-1/-1 counter on target creature.
When Tainted Oil enters the battlefield, pick an opponent.
At the beginning of your upkeep, Tainted Oil
deals 1 damage to the chosen opponent, then you
may pay {1}{p/b}, if you do, make a copy of Tainted
Oil.
